IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT THE 2020 SHOW

For the 23rd year, our Brits on the Beach all-British car show will take place although not at the usual Ocean Grove location.

Ocean Grove decided to pass on any events in town this fall. We have been busy finding a new venue for the 2020 show, and we are happy to announce that we are bringing our show to Woody’s Roadside Tavern in Farmingdale.

Note that the date is also changing and is now on SATURDAY OCTOBER 3rd. Rain date October 4th.

Space is limited at the show venue so advanced registration is essential. Registration is available for both members and non-members of the Positive Earth Drivers Club.

Unfortunately the Woody’s parking lot is not large enough to hold our typical show field of approximately 140 cars, so we will need to reduce the show field size to somewhere between 85 and 95 cars. (Final show field size is TBD at this time.)

To accomplish this, and also because we understand that the new venue and date may not be acceptable to everyone, we will be offering registrants the opportunity to withdraw voluntarily from the show and receive a full refund of their registration fees, provided that they do so by Wednesday, September 23rd.

If this does not reduce the number of registrants sufficiently, the remaining registrations will be honored in the order in which they were received, except that preference will be given to show volunteers regardless of when they registered. Also, if necessary, all club officers will withdraw their cars from the show to make space for others. A separate email to all registrants will provide further details on this process.

We will have exclusive use of their facilities for the duration of the show, and Woody’s is not charging us any fee for this. The only income they will derive from hosting our show will come from the sale of food and beverages. We will be able to order off their regular menu and dine in their outdoor areas. We will also arrange for them to have coffee and rolls or bagels available for purchase in the morning. Please refrain from bringing your own food and drink to the show. All social distancing rules must be followed during the show, which means that masks must be worn at all times when six feet of distance from others cannot be maintained (unless you are seated at a table in the dining area), and whenever you enter the building to use the restrooms. In addition, you must be seated when consuming food and beverages. Outdoor gatherings are limited to 500 people, which should be no problem at all for us.

We realize that a reduced-size show at Woody’s is not the same as gathering in Ocean Grove, but your show chairman and club officers firmly believe it will be far better than no show at all. We hope you agree. Please feel free to contact any of us if you have any questions.

Classes and number of awards per class will be determined by pre-registration. If you’d like your car additionally judged in any of the three special trophy classes, please indicate this on the booking form. The three classes are:

  • Diamond in the Rough
  • Preservation
  • Custom/modified

EVENT DAY TIMETABLE

  • Registration: 9:30 – 11:00 AM
  • Judging: 12:00 – 2:00 PM
  • Opening Remarks: 1:00 PM
  • Show Awards: 3:30 PM
  • Door Prizes throughout the day
  • Free admission for visitors. All are welcome.
  • Judging in regular classes is by Participants’ Choice
  • Dash plaques given for first 135 cars registered
  • Silent-auction-style drawing for door prizes
  • Live DJ music from all eras

NOTE: Space on our show field is limited. In previous years we have filled the show field to the point of overflow. For this reason we encourage you to register early and avoid disappointment.
